Association for the Study of the Cuban Economy (ASCE)
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS and PANEL PROPOSALS
2025 Annual Conferences
October 17-18, 2025
The Association for the Study of the Cuban Economy (ASCE) is accepting submissions for its 2025 Annual Conference, bringing together scholars, experts, and professionals to discuss Cuba’s economic, legal, and social challenges.

This year’s theme, "Recovering Cuba," explores the country’s current economic situation and potential paths for reform. We invite papers and panels that examine Cuba’s economy from diverse perspectives—including policy, history, and international relations—with a special emphasis on economic reforms. Submissions may also address related topics such as the political or social economy, economic history, comparative lessons, international commercial relations, demography, labor markets, and the Cuban diaspora.

To support topic development, the conference includes a highlighted list to the right. These can serve as a useful guide for generating paper or panel ideas.
